Kang LaMont is a new hip hop artist from Kansas City who exploded on to the rap scene in 2016. Kang never aspired to make music until his College room-mate inspired him to begin writing songs at the age of 22. However, Kang didn’t take music seriously until he narrowly dodged bullets outside of a Kansas City night club that instead, killed a peer standing inches away in 2015. Kang taught his self how to record, mix and master music along with Directing and Editing videos and produce beats on his own and released his first EP “Afterthoughts” March 2016. Since releasing his first project a year ago he has since been featured on Hot 103 jamz, produced B.E.T. “One Shot” finalist Kxng Dose’s album “Notebook” and has performed alongside Young Dolph, Slick Rick, Rittz, DJ Luke Nasty and Jabee among others. Kang is known for composing vivid imagery of triumph, pain, relationships, parties and the inner-city struggle all painted over the canvas of his beloved but brutal Kansas City streets. Depending on the song, Kang’s method of delivery can be as potent as T.I. in his prime (Juiceman) or as melodic and playfull as Post Malone (BlueWave).
